Hotel and room info

Do you have twin rooms?

Sorry, but we do not have that type of room containing two separate beds; we have only double rooms.

What is a double room?

A double room is a room for two persons with one bed consisting of two separate mattresses joined by a common headboard.

How big are the beds?

The (beds) mattresses are each 90 cm x 200 cm (approx. 3 feet x 6 1/2 feet). There is no footboard as a hindrance to tall guests!

What rooms have a balcony?

All rooms located to the front of the hotel have a balcony facing the Rhine. Note: Guests, whose room doesn't have a balcony, may want to enjoy the sun terrace on the second floor, which faces the courtyard.

Do the rooms have refrigerators?

No.

May we use the hotel refrigerator or freezer?

Sorry, but we have limited refrigeration space. We try to accommodate your freezing accumulators and of course we will always store medicines (for example insulin), if required.

Is there air-conditioning?

Only our ground floor (reception, lobby and breakfast room) is air-conditioned.

Do you have non-smoking rooms?

We have a limited number of non-smoking rooms, including all the highest category rooms and suite. As non-smokers ourselves we are very aware of potential problems and try to keep all our rooms in a fresh condition.

Do you have rooms that can accommodate the handicapped?

We have only a few rooms large enough to accommodate handicapped persons, but only if they are able to walk a few steps (within the bathroom) without a wheelchair. The lift is only large enough to accommodate a wheelchair if the footrests have been removed. Unfortunately the doors to most of our rooms are not wide enough for a wheelchair to pass through.

Do you have babysitters?

We can obtain a babysitter if we have at least 24 hour's notice.

How many floors does the hotel have?

Our hotel has five floors.

Does the hotel building have a lift (elevator)?

Yes, we have a small lift.

Is there a launderette?

No, the nearest is in the city of Koblenz (about 20 minutes drive).

Do you offer laundry service?

We can send out your laundry. Pick-up/Delivery-Days are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. It will be returned on the next following delivery day.

Do you allow pets?

Sorry we do not.

Do you offer internet access?

Yes, WLAN is available in all rooms.

Do you have a computer room?

Yes, there is a computer with a DSL connection and WLAN as well, located in our library.

Is there a printer?

No, but if you have something important that needs to be printed, you can send an e-mail to our front office and we'll print it out there for you.

What kinds of books are available in the hotel library?

We have mostly paperbacks in German or English and some hardbound books as well. We have from romance stories or mysteries to Plato and Socrates.

How many channels does the TV have?

We receive 30 channels.

Are there any international programs on the room TV?

CNN in English and TV5 in French, are both available on our cable-TVs. MTV, VIVA, and EuroSport sometimes have programs in English.

What kind of equipment do you have in your fitness room?

Currently we have a stationary bike, semi-recumbent bike, an elliptical trainer, a rowing machine, stair stepper, treadmill and a mini-Trampoline.

Reservations

Are your quoted prices per person or per room?

Prices are always quoted per room including breakfast buffet, service and all taxes.

How can I reserve a room?

By filling out the reservations form via our homepage under "Book now".

How long does it normally take for an E-mail response from you?

We try to answer within 24 hours. Please note that there can sometimes be an additional delay because of time zone differences. If you require an immediate answer please give us a call 0049-(0)6742- 8 90 90. We also have Skype.

Do you require a credit card to hold the room?

Yes, for all guests residing outside of Germany.

Is your site secure for transmitting credit card information?

Yes, our site is secure. (SSL)

Will I receive a confirmation of my reservation?

Yes, please always make sure that you have received a written (e-mail, fax or letter) confirmation.

Do you need a 24 hour confirmation of arrival?

No, not necessary unless you may have booked several months in advance, or in the preceding year, in which case we recommend notification at least 7 - 10 days in advance of Arrival.

What forms of payment are possible?

Other than cash (both Euros and American dollars) we accept VISA, Mastercard, AMEX and DINER'S Club cards, as well as the European Maestro or German ec-cards.

Arrival and Departures

What are the Check-in and Check-out times?

Check-in: after 1:00 pm,  Check-out: 11:00 am

What are the hotel opening-hours?

We are open from 7:30 am until 9:00 pm.

Must we arrive by a certain time in order to keep the reservation?

Guests are expected to arrive by 6:00 pm. If you will be arriving later, please be sure to inform us.

What if I can only arrive very late at night?

We must be informed so that we may discuss possible alternate arrangements.

If I arrive by car where can I unload my luggage?

You may stop directly in front of the hotel entrance long enough to unload and take the luggage to your room.

Where can I park my car?

You'll find public parking across the street from our building (designated the P4 Parking Lot), which costs 50 Cents per hour or 2.50 Euro for the entire day. (Ticket vending machines are within 50 meters of our hotel.)

Parking is free from 6:00 pm until 8:00 am the next morning.

You may also pay for the next day on the evening beforehand (between 6:00 and 9:00 pm).

Free parking is available at the parking lot P2, on the corner Kaiser-Friedrich-Street and the Rheinallee, or on the top level of the parking deck P1 located in Marienberger Street.

When arriving at the train station, how do I get to the hotel?

We are approx. 600 meters from the station, where taxis are waiting. One can reach us by foot as well: Take the Bahnhofstraße (directly opposite the station), which leads down to the river road. Turn right and find us in 400 meters.

How much are taxi charges to and from the hotel...

Do you offer storage for our luggage, because we will be departing Hotel Günther much later than check-out time?

You are welcome to store your luggage free with us until the time of departure.

Food and drink

Is breakfast included in your prices?

Yes.

What's for breakfast?

Breakfast consists of 4 sorts of bread, approx. 4 kinds of rolls, 3 sorts of cheeses, 3-4 kinds of meats- including ham, misc. sorts of jellies including several for diabetics, honey, Nutella, peanut butter, yoghurt, cornflakes, muesli and fresh fruit.  There is a choice of butter or margarine. Your choice of coffee (also decaffeinated), 7 sorts of teas (including green tea), hot chocolate, milk- 1.5% fat milk hot or cold, (0.3% milk or Soya milk are available upon request) orange juice and a soft-boiled egg are all brought to your table.

What time is breakfast?

Daily from 7:30 am until 10:00 am.

Can we have a table at the window?

Can I reserve a table for breakfast?

Unfortunately, because we have fewer tables than our total number of rooms, tables must be used more than once each morning. It is not likely that you will have the same table every day. You may choose your table daily on a "first-come, first serve" basis. Please don't sit at a table, which has been set for a different number of people than are in your Party.

Do you have a restaurant?

We do not.

Do you offer coffee/tea making facilities?

Sorry, but as the case in the majority of hotels on the continent, we do not. Please see next question.

What is available to drink?

We offer a selection of beer, wine, sparkling wine, spirits, coffee, tea, mineral waters (carbonated or still), Coca cola, Fanta, orange juice, apple juice and milk. Especially low prices are charged for beer and beverages taken to your room.

Bicycles

Where can I rent bikes?

We work together with a local bicycle shop, located just within short walking distance in the town center. They charge 6.50 Euros per day.

May I bring my own bicycle to the hotel and where can I park my bike overnight?

Yes, we have a dry, secure storage area, which is available for free.

How large is Boppard?

The immediate city has a population of about 10,000. Ten other villages (Bad Salzig, Buchholz, Herschwiesen, Hirzenach, Holzfeld, Oppenhausen, Rheinbay, Udenhausen and Weiler.) are incorporated with it, for a total of approx. 17,000.

Is there a bridge in the valley?

There is a bridge to the north of us in Koblence or to the south in Mainz.

Is there a car ferry in the valley?

Yes, there is a ferry in Boppard as well as St. Goar, Kaub, Trechtingshausen and Bingen. One-way fare is approx. 4 Euros for car, driver and one passenger.
